The Kids Fun Run takes place at 10:30am on the same day as the adult events. This event is sponsored by Milo and the Cayman Islands Government's Ministry of Youth & Sports and is open to kids ages 5 to 11 years old.
Registration for students in the Cayman Islands is FREE, and students can register through their schools or online. Non-Cayman students can register online for US$12.50. Registration includes a t-shirt, runner bib and a medal at the finish line.
All kids must pick up their race packages on SATURDAY, 30 November between 9am and 5pm at Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman (near Kimpton Seafire Resort). In addition, kids can register at Packet Pick Up IF SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE. Race packages include an event t-shirt and the bib that the runner will wear during the race. If the race package is not picked up, there is no guarantee that the runner will get a t-shirt on race day.
The Kids Fun Run starts at the Government Administration Building on Elgin Avenue and ends on Warwick Drive behind Bayshore Mall. It is approximately half a mile. Participants will run from the Government Administration Building and turn left onto Shedden Road passing Royal Bank and KFC and then turning left by the National Museum and running up Seafarers Way to the Hard Rock Cafe. This is where the adults completing the marathon, half marathon and team relay also end their races.
Introduced in 2012, the Kids Marathon log allows kids participating in the Kids Fun Run to keep a record of their activity leading up to the Kids Fun Run. The goal is to have completed a full marathon (26.2 miles) at the end of the Kids Fun Run in December. The first 25.5 miles of the marathon can be achieved through running, walking, swimming, and other sporting activities, and kids can have their parents or another adult sign their log verifying that they have completed each mile. After completing the 0.7-mile Kids Fun Run and crossing the finish line on race day, successful participants can boast that they have officially completed a marathon. In addition, they can enter their logs in a draw for a prize courtesy of Kids Fun Run sponsor Milo.

Kids should be at the start line NO LATER THAN 10:15AM in order to have an on-time start. Please note that each child MUST be wearing a bib in order to run.
Kids will be separated into three groups according to age. To ensure as safe a run as possible, the oldest kids will start first and the youngest will go last.
There is no timing or race results for the kids’ event as it is a fun run. However, those children that completed their running logs will have their names put into a draw for the chance to win a prize from Milo. Prize drawings will be done the next day and all winners will be contacted to collect any prizes they have won from the marathon office.
Marathon-Photos is our official photographer and will have photos of all runners taking part in the event. You will be able to search for photos of your child by bib number within a day or two after the event. The link to photos will be posted on social media and this site.
Parents can park in the Government Administration Building's parking lot, Cricket Square, Cayman National or anywhere along Elgin Avenue that is NOT on the race route. Parents can collect their children behind Bayshore Mall on the Goring Avenue side.
While we understand your concern for your child/children, please know that the course is completely closed to vehicular traffic during the kids run, monitored by the police and the kids are escorted by the older cadets and other adult volunteers. Therefore, you do not need to run with your child. However, if you do choose to participate, we respectfully ask that you run on the side of the road or behind the group of kids and NOT with them.
